LUSITO LAND’S RECIPE FOR A SUCCESSFUL FESTIVAL
The Lusito Land Festival attracts thousands of visitors every year. The highly anticipated event offers a feast of mouth-watering Portuguese cuisine, combined with some of the country’s top acts and a host of fun activities to keep festival-goers well fed and entertained.
So how does the Lusito Land Festival remain so successful year after year? Well they have a special recipe that they follow.

Combine all the ingredients at the Cayman Road venue in Alewynspoort, Johannesburg South. Add a massive serving of fun and plenty of good-humoured South Africans and their friends and families to the mix, and you have a festival of epic proportions. Dance, eat and have a great family day out while raising funds for the Lusito Association for the disabled.
Lusito Land Festival is locally organised in-house by the Lusito Association.
Lusito Land will take place over two weekends; 20th April to 28th April at its new home situated at 25 Cayman Road, Alewynspoort, Johannesburg South.

Parking is available within the festival grounds. There are three parking entrances which are easily accessible as follows:
- 2 entrance and exits accessible from Kliprivier/R550 Road OR
- 1 entrance and exit accessible from Cayman Road.
Parking area is enclosed and manned by security.
Parking is FREE!
Tickets are available through Computicket or on the day at the gate.
We suggest you buy tickets online before the show to avoid unnecessary queues.
Pre-purchased ticket access to the show through “Fastlane” access at the main entrance.

Please note, Lusito Land Festival recommends all children under 18 attend with an adult. Not Under 18’s will be allowed into the bar areas.

Yes, but remember onsite ticket sales do not begin until 10h00/17h00 each show day.
We can’t guarantee tickets will be available at the door. If Lusito Land Festival tickets sell out before the festival, no tickets will be available at the door. To ensure you don’t miss out, pre-purchase your tickets today!
The programme will be released in the weeks leading up to the festival, though we will be revealing details earlier than that via our website and social channels.
We will have a dedicated parking and entrance set-up for persons with disabilities. Please note that there are paved areas but most of the ground is grassed.
Lusito Land Festival does not provide child care services.
No Gazebos – We do not want to block anyone’s view
No Hubbly Bubbly (Hooka Pipes)

No Explosives (including firecrackers and fireworks)
No Chemical weapons (including mace and pepper spray)
No Blunt weapons (including brass knuckles, clubs and nunchaku)

Bring a warm jacket as it gets a bit chilly in the evening. Remember to bring your jacket in with you as no Pass Outs are allowed.
Get an arm band from the organiser’s office or ticketing office and write your kids name and your number on it.

Find the nearest Lusito Land staff member or security guard and we will help you locate your missing party. We suggest that when you arrive at Lusito Land Festival you and your friends & family a location to meet in case anyone does get lost. We also recommend that you obtain a wristband from the organisers’ office or from the ticket office for your child/children and write your contact details on it.
No. The only animals permitted in the venue are service animals. We love animals as much as you, but you are going to have to leave your pets at home.
Drones are not allowed in the venue.
We attract local, national and international press to the Lusito Land festival. In purchasing your ticket and in consideration for being admitted to the festival, the holder consents to being recorded (by audio, visual and/or other means) for exhibition and exploitation by any means in all media now known or hereafter devised worldwide in perpetuity. Holder also hereby: (1) releases Lusito Association from any liability for loss or damage to persons or property, infringement of any right or any other claim or course of action of any kind; (2) authorizes and permits Lusito Association and its designees which include but are not limited to all sponsors, exhibitors and contractors to use and authorize the use of his/her name, voice, likeness and all reproductions thereof by any means and in all media now and hereafter know for all purposes worldwide in perpetuity; and (3) agrees to comply with all rules and regulations of the festival. Holder agrees not to make any recordings of any kind at designated activities without the express written permission of Lusito Association. We reserve the right to deny entry or remove from the festival facilities any person who in our sole and absolute discretion is behaving or threatening to behave in a manner which we reasonably consider to be disruptive of the festival.
Most vendors will accept credit and debit cards. There will be limited ATMs located at the venue.
The safety and security of our staff, exhibitors and visitors is our priority. We work closely with the venue, security, and law enforcement authorities to identify risks, assess them and develop security plans for our festival.
Everyone attending Lusito Land Festival should be aware or the following security measures: Security will be onsite at all times to assist you during all aspects of the Lusito Land Festival. Everyone must have their Lusito Land Festival tickets on hand at all times. A fully operational security team will be doing searches at all entry points to the venue, hand held scanners will be used. No Fire arms are permitted into the festival grounds and NO lock-up facilities are available. Keep personal property with you at all times and do not leave any items unattended. Carry a valid form of photo ID at all times.
A Venue Operations Centre will be located at the festival during the festival hours with all essential services in terms of SAPS, Security, Medical Personnel, Traffic Control, etc…
Please bring all found items to the Lusito Land organiser's office. Lost items will be kept at the organiser’s office and you can also phone 072 244 9001 to locate your lost items.
